We told our hubbies that on the 10th year we want the cruise!
This year, simply due to the fact that the three of us couldn't find a weekend that we were all free AND there was a scrapping retreat available so....
My hubby and the two big kids are in Lake Placid for a long weekend and mygals are here! My littlest guy heads to bed at 7ish so, they arrived last night after bed time and we scrapped until 4:30...yep, AM! Got about an hour and a half of sleep before he was up for breakfast.
My mom just came and snuggled him up and he is headed to her house until after dinner. We will make a trip to the Flower & Craft Warehouse and go out to lunch on our well-deserved afternoon break . F&CW is, by far, one of my favorite places in the world, second only to the beach...and, yes, for those of you who read my previous post about the "URGE"...it happens EVERY TIME I walk in the door of this place alone! Just goes to show you how much I love it there!
So, if anyone wants to see what I accomplished, I will post some pictures tomorrow...if my sleepy fingers have enough energy to press the button on the camera as I doubt we will sleep AT ALL tonight. We have movies, wine and lots of yummy snacks!
We will most likely scrap together another time this year since our hubbies got out of the EZ GIFT and no money was spent. I doubt we will be as productive this weekend because we have a TV, fridge, etc involved. Usually it is about 300 women in a banquet hall all set up on 6' office tables. We start scrapbooking Friday afternoon and call it quits Sunday morning. We usually don't sleep more than 2-3 hours the WHOLE FRIPPIN' WEEKEND! I usually complete an entire album.
The other benefit is that when we go on these retreats, we have 5-6 Creative Memories consultants at our disposal. They all have their tools/templates/sizzix machines, etc. available for us to use, not to mention all of their inventory. Working on a beach page and need beach stickers? Take ten steps to the left and ya hit pay dirt! Every stinkin' beach sticker you ever imagined at your fingertips...it is a beautiful thing! And they feed us...all day!
I am headed to the shower to refresh and then it's 'nose to the paper cutter' for me. See ya when I come up for air!

Thanks to those of you who pumped up my self-esteem about my Macy-Sue character. I never thought of it before but what a way to make sure I nail the market with my story line...take it to the 'market' (you!) and ask what you want and what it should look like.
So, without further ado...the NEW Macy-Sue...I think...lemme know what YOU think, please!

Macy-Sue La Rue you're a DIVA! Love her Michelle. Have fun scrappin'. I was just thinking today what an awesome gift it would be if hubby took Luke somewhere the whole weekend and I got to do my jewelry ALLLLLL WEEEEK END!
P.S. Her eyes ROCK. So expressive. I think she would look good as a red head too. Wink
I like both... but I LOVE the Macy-Sue in the previous post. She is very nostalgic and evocative of... something...
But maybe that's my own childhood speaking. She reminded me of Hollie Hobbie, just a little, with Strawberry Shortcake mixed in. And you know they are both making a comeback! :)
Maybe we should ask the kids...
Okay, my 5 year old says he likes the one I like, too (and I didn't tell him which one I liked, either!)
Hope that's helpful!
Jen
I too like both as well - I agree with Jennifer - take a poll at one of the kids schools - have them be involved, they'll love it. - K
I like both Macy sue's, but the second one is my favorite. :) I found another family that needs prayers, there is a post on my blog about them, if you get a chance go check it out.
Have a great weekend with your girls!
I didn't think that Macy Sue could get any cuter but she's so frippin adorable! I am so in awe of your talent!
And I had no idea that scapbooking could be an all night kind of thing. And with wine involved. I may have to rethink my whole outlook on this.
Have a fun weekend!
FUN! I am glad you had a break to do what you like...but it is too bad we come "back" tired. I go on a Creative Memories scrapbooking retreat in 6 days! :) Who is counting?!?!?
Oh my, that poor girl is IN TROUuuble! I think her hair is a bit too curly now. Looser curls would be cute. Love her poor little wrinkled up face.
And that June Cleaver Mom of hers!
Cracks me up!
I like her!! She is adorable and I love her tights and socks!! The eyes are wonderful. I am not too sure I like the brown hair though. I agree with Heather, red hair would be cute.
I like the clear, sharper style of the new picture - the first one had a softer, watercolor-ish style. But then that may appeal to more people - I agree with Jennifer & tlt - ask the kids. :-)
I LOVE the new Macy - she kinda reminds me of my 9 year old Nans!!
I don't scrap (yet), but my mom does - she has done a few of those weekend dealio's too, and she LOVES them! Maybe someday when I can actually organize my photos, find a sitter to watch the kids (hubby has to work weekends), have money to take a trip to somewhere OTHER than the grocery store....you get the point!
Do you have any other potential Macy "looks"? Maybe you should post all that you have and then take a vote? Democracy at it's best!!!
Hope you had a grand time this weekend! I'm thinking looser curls and possibly red hair also, for what it's worth. You helped me decide that I'm taking my Christmas money and taking a watercolor class with a friend. (I usually put it towards bills or other household items) Good luck!
I agree with Marylu and grandmother goddess - looser curls, "unruly" curls. Red hair would be cute, but not bright red - too much like Annie. Maybe an auburn. Also, I can't see the pupils too clearly. Are the eyes brown? I LOVE the eyelashes. The shape of her face seems to have changed. More squared off, kind of reminds me of Betty Boop. I like the shape of 1st Macy's face. I LOVE her new outfit, especially the leggings! I would change the color of her shirt, but LOVE the style of the outfit. Modern, but original. Will she always wear the same clothes? Very wonderful. You have such talent! I'm excited to see what happens next! Hope you sell autographed copies of your book to your bloggin friends!
p.s. I let my daughter draw anything she wants on the inside of her bedroom door with markers. It's just paint. I can fix it. (after I take a picture of it of course.)
She's adorable!!
Here's my 2 cents.
Love the new eyes - leggings and sox. Would like to see looser curls. You are very talented.
Also, who said something about the cadence? I like that especially.
I also liked the original Macy - I see the reminiscent look others have mentioned. But I like her.
Will ask the kids when I think of it.
Will add you to the prayer list for getting her published.
Thanks for sharing - KR
Patiently waiting for pictures!
I just asked my almost five year old which Macy Sue she liked better. She said your new one. Just wanted to let you know! (I actually liked the old one, but I don't think I'm your target audience, huh?!)
Where are you. We're missing your daily blog...If you haven't gotten a chance swing on over to my blog and read the link on the left Confessions of a CF Husband...Very touching! This family needs LOTS of prayer! What's the latest with Julian.
I LOVE Macy-Sue!!! Great job! I'm really excited for you on her. Keep it up!!
