Turkey LOVERS unite...

I am a proud - former vegetarian who still boycotts turkey on Thanksgiving. I find it sad that an entire holiday is based on the death of one specific animal...I know, I know - "tree-hugging, Bambi-lover" but that's just how I think... I actually adopt a turkey for Thanksgiving from Farm Sanctuary (I forgot this year - shhhhhhhhh, don't tell the turkeys!) This is just a reminder for those of you who are planning your Christmas/Kwanza/Hannukah/all other holiday meals... How about some Tofurkey??

Gloria Gaynor the Turkey, "Ain't gonna sell me to no Butterball", too funny! (I feel your pain, I'm just teasing) I guess I've just managed to supress that part of my brain that connects the animal with what's on my plate, it is pretty gross when you really think about it. Geez! Now I may have to have a Tofurkey! :)

Thanks for the comment over on my blog. I liked the youtube video, cute! I dont eat turkey either on Thanksgiving. I always cook a small ham. Is that just as bad?
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying your week. Take care,
Kristy

I'm sorry, but I have to say a great big "No thank you" to the tofurkey idea. Here are my reasons:
1. I wait all year for the turkey at Thanksgiving. I LURVE turkey.
2. I don't eat anything that has a combined name. No Tofurkey or Turducken (if that's even how you spell it)
3. It's my opinion that if the big guy upstairs didn't want us to eat turkey, he wouldn't have made it so.darn.delish!
I'm just kidding with you here. Don't go driving by my house in your eco-friendly car to throw your treehuggin sandals at me. lol That was a very cute video though.
Would it make you feel better if I adopted a turkey AND still got to eat mine? I could adopt two turkeys. how's that sound?

I'd have to agree with Tracy... no tofurkey... That sounds absolutely horrific! I figure if I don't buy a turkey, one would have possibly died in vain. I'd rather make good use of him by providing my family with a meal than see him go to waste in the freezer aisle of my local store. Plus, we are blessed by the provision of food we have in this country compared to so many others... I'm thankful I have the opportunity to eat it! :) It's too good to pass up!

Hope your Thanksgiving was a happy one!

Blessings this day!

PUH-lease...I just needed an excuse to post this video!!

I don't eat turkey but would NEVER try and make someone else think they shouldn't eat it...I just have a way-soft heart!

Heck, I don't even spank my kids!
HAHA!

LOL, I don't mind eating turkey one bit. Only one animal had to die to feed the many. Now a meal made of Shrimp is an entirely different thing...
