UGG...

No, I am not exasperated...it's a brand...of shoe...and unless you have been living in the rain forest without human contact for about 7 years, you know them, you've seen them. I love them! But, I am too cheap to buy them. I have honestly wanted UGGs for about 6 years...really. But, still, six years later and I can't justify the price tag. So, this weekend I was on ebay looking around, trying to find a good deal on a variety of things that I DON'T need and I thought, "Hey, why not see if I can grab some UGGs, cheap!" Well, no such luck. They were just about the same price range as the stores around here AND I'd have to swing shipping, too. The cheapest ones I found were shipping from a seller named Yo Wang and were coming from CHINA. I have a feeling these would have had the UGG label but most definitely would not have been the authentic, quality shoe I have been longing for! Then I thought, "I have seen some great deals on used designer bags on ebay...lemme just type in the word used." VOILA! Used UGGs! And most of them were in fantastic condition with lots of pictures showing all the views of each shoe. The soles, the inside, the tags...and Yo Wang was no where in site. I zeroed in on a GREAT pair of black clogs. I am a clog-wearer from way back. Love them! Perfect, I thought. The price was decent...$35. I scrolled down through the description, nice. Saw the photos, good. Looked at the return policy, impressive. Even liked the last line... "Ships from a pet-free, smoke-free home!" I slid the cursor to "PLACE BID"... My finger was poised above the button just long enough for me to pause and think... "So, no pets and no smoke...but what about FOOT STINK? It doesn't say anywhere in the auction that this woman's feet don't stink. There is no way if it even said that, though, that she could prove it with pictures. Would she accept a return based on, "You're feet smell like corn chips, I can't wear these shoes!" " I hesitated long enough to change my own mind. There is nothing (well, few things) more stomach-turning than voluntarily taking on someone's FOOT STINK in the name of fashion. No thanks! I'll wait until I am famous and someone buys them for me! LOL! Speaking of famous...(just kidding!) Don't forget that my WEB SHOW for MOMS premiers all day Friday!!!! I will be taking it live at midnight on Thursday and it will be a WEB CARNIVAL for a whole 24 hours....prizes, give-a-ways... lots of fun! I understand your pause... but coming from a family that can... erm... have that problem...

The solution is to put your shoes in a freezer bag, and them put them in the freezer overnight. Kills the bacteria which make the smell.

Although, I'm not sure if that would fix advance stinkage... don't know if it's worth the $35 experiment.

For the next time you're thinking about buying used shoes... a bit of Febreeze and the potential foot stink would be gone. If it works on Honey's soccer cleats I'm sure it would work on a pair of gently used Uggs.

I just got my 4y/o a pair of used Uggs from ebay. I figured some one can spend the 100$ for them to get scuffed the next day while i get them for 10 :) ok, i paid 11$ I didnt even think about them smelling. If it helps you, they didn't smell and they were still soft, but it did have the childs foot shape in it. but not stinky or dirty.

I guess I'm one of those people living in the rain forest because although I think I have heard the name, I don't know what UGGs are. However, I was thinking UGG at the thought of buying someone elses shoes. I don't know, it just grosses me out. I think I'll do without.

I paid $130 for my Uggs from a surplus outlet and they are TOTALLY worth the price! They are the comfiest boots I've ever worn, and I can wear them in below 0 weather without socks and not even have cold feet!

i decided to look for Uggs for my daughter tonight and came across a guide to spot fakes http://stores.ebay.com/Nancy-Sue-Hano/HOW-TO-TELL-A-FAKE-UGG-BOOT.html
Turns out that Uggs are made in China now. She pretty much says if they are real Uggs you are not going to find a deal on ebay.
Have fun shopping :)

good call.......I think stinky shoes stay stinky shoes. You might be able to cover up for a little while but the stink will come through!! And I know Uggs are expensive but believe me.....they are so worth every penny you pay. I hate shoes with a passion and they hurt my feet but I can wear my Uggs all day long and I'm still good to go!! go ahead......splurge!

LOL, I haven't decided if I'm an UGG fan or not. I like boots and all, but unless my braces fit in them , no such luck...
I'm with you on buying used shoes where u can't smell the foot funk...
my mom bought a pretty blouse at a garage sale one time, it smelled fine, but when she washed it and went to iron it the B.O smell that came off that shirt signaled its straight line for the trash can.
yuck..
