Oprah and the World's Smartest Kids...

Oprah (my BFF b/c I saw her in real life thanks to Kendra) had the cutest kids on her show today. She had kids who could play concert piano by age 3, one little guy who was a mad drummer from the time he was 6 mos old, and a cute set of ballroom dancers that probably still watch Sesame Street and Barney! I guess my kids invitations got lost in the mail. Oprah must have tried to call during the week the phone was sequestered between the cushions of the couch. Whatever the glitch, we missed our calling! As moms, don't we all think OUR child is the cutest, smartest, most polite, precious child on the face of the earth? Even this week as my two-year old started the sticking-out-of-the-tongue gimmick, I noticed he has a very cute tongue. Could a child really be so cute that even his tongue is cute? I do believe I have the cutest tongue in the land!! I currently have the world's most artistic daughter - this little lady can draw anything! Today she was whipping out caricatures by the minute! She is amazing! This one will do something big with her talents. She has the heart of an angel and the patience of a saint. My princess! I also have the world's most philanthropic 10-year old. My first-born has spent the days since Mimi and Haley have left drumming up support for pediatric cancer. He has sold ALL of the Julian bracelets Mimi left him and is anxiously awaiting a new shipment. He is as passionate as his mom about helping others! My youngest (the tongue-sticker-outer) is the newest version of HAPPY GILMORE. Adam Sandler's got nothin' on this kid! My mom bought him a mini golf set and he has dreamed up uses for golf clubs that I could never have imagined. Although, the way the dog winces when he runs past, I think she has dreamed them up! No matter whether I am pulling matchboxes out of my air ducts, getting tractors out of the dishwasher, running forgotten lunches and instruments into school or breaking up the 4,000 argument of the day I am the happiest mom in the world to the three bestest kids in the whole big world! I hope your Mother's Day was spectacular! You deserve it!

Mimi touched OPRAH...

OK, what a whirlwind of a morning it has been! CRAZY! After getting herded like cattle around the HARPO STUDIOS, we made it into the actual set! WE WERE PEEING!!! We have no photos because we weren't allowed to take cameras or cell phones into the studio...sorry! It was an awesome experience...I thought my face was going to break from smiling...apparently Manic watched already and said she didn't see us in the audience and NO THEY DIDN'T SURPRISE US AND HAVE US ON THE SHOW!!!!! Told you!!!! Oprah was cracking jokes during commercials when her make-up/hair people weren't covering her cleavage, fluffing her hair, fixing her make-up or handing her medicine - yeah, she was a little under-the-weather! But totally fun! Mariah Carey is the size of a lamp post. Seriously, I think she weighs 46 lbs. Somebody give the girl a hoagie, please! She sang "BYE-BYE" from her album E=MC2 that comes out tomorrow - we patted Mimi as it was a song about losing someone you love. We got Mariah perfume when we left as our gift! Nope, no car! :) When Oprah left the studio she reached up into the crowd and Mimi shook her hand. We told Mimi not to wash her hands and then if she ended up getting sick next week she could tell everyone she caught Oprah's cold!!!!!!! How cool was that???!!!! We then shopped at the O Store - yes, the woman has her own store! It's cool with fun, comfy clothes, coffee mugs, specialty tea, etc...everything had an O on it! Well, it is almost time to check out and say good-bye to my BLOGGIN' MAMAS, so I will sign off but please let me know what you thought of the show! Maybe YOU saw us when Manic blinked!!

OPRAH HERE WE COME!!!!

I am running around like a maniac packing and crossing off lists...ipod, ipod charger, laptop, etc...and the whole time I am feeling badly for not hosting a video blog! You people are demanding, you know! Just kidding! I am almost all packed, Just crafted some little surprises for my kids for when I leave in the am....things they can keep with them while I am away to help to keep me close...this is the longest I have EVER been away from the WHOLE family! I'd take pictures of what I made them to show you but someone dropped my camera (ME!) and it broke! UGH! Hubby's TO DO list tonight includes buying a new camera! A blogger cannot go to Chicago with her blogging friends and NOT have a camera...are you kidding me? So...needless to say, NO VIDEO BLOG FOR TODAY! Mimi found out that Mariah Carey will be singing her new single, BYE BYE on Oprah on Monday so we think the show is about losing someone you love....UGH! That is gonna be a snot-fest for the three of us!! Send tissues!!!!!!!!!!!! C'mon people, enough is enough.....I have to go.....will be packing my laptop soon then the kids will be home, the baby will be up, we have a parent/teacher conference, have to pick up a baseball uniform and watch American Idol and go to bed!! Then, I am off!!!!!

Thursday's GABBIN' MAMA Video Blog...

ARGGHH, dang flabbit! My camera battery died so you get the rest of the "scoop" via written/typed word! (ps - I am still giggling as I imagine Goose's face when she clicks PLAY!! BWAAAAHAAA) Anyway, I was going to give you the Oprah scoop via my video but, alas, no such luck today! But if you are a visual learner, as I am, you will have a mental note of it if it is right in front of your eyes! Monday, April 14th is when we are going to Oprah!!! And, the producer made sure to let us know that it is a LIVE taping so it will air THE SAME DAY. Whatever time she comes on in your town is when you may see us hootin' and hollerin' in the audience!! :) I told Mimi, who has a new BLOG, last night that I got my hair done, (no new 'do' - I just always wait too long in between appointments) and she cracked me up - she said, "GREAT! Now you won't lay down to sleep for 10 days so you don't mess it up!!" HAHAHA! I am not THAT concerned, the show is NOT about me!! :) Thank Goodness!! I already don't like the outfit I bought yesterday at GAP! I am pretty sure it DOESN'T have to do with boogers, pee and butt-munching, though. I think it is pretty but it is a bit too tailored, I think. Not me. I am more of the arty-style - a bit funky - kinda girl!! I think I will keep it b/c it was on sale and only $26.99 and it would be nice for all the places I go that I need to look "tailored." BWWAAAHAAA - hmmmmmm, I don't think I go ANYWHERE that I need to be tailored. Just too funky for that I guess! So, how about Idol!! Any of you as addicted to it as I am? We have never watched it from beginning to end....ya know, the whole audition-thing to the voting off episodes. This is our first time. Even my kids are addicted! We tape it for them on Wednesdays so they are not up late. I think after this week, I would be OK with Kristy Lee Cook going but I really like the rest (sorry Kristy). The boys are rrrrreeeeaaaaalllllllly cute!!! Don't ya think? Especially that MICHAEL JOHNS, how 'bout it Manic??!!! Man-oh-Man!! And I just LOVE LOVE LOVE David Archuleta!! He is just too adorable (and very humble!)!! I guess Jordin Sparks (last year's winner) is putting all her $$ on David Cook....??? Hmmmm, like him but not so sure he is the ONE! I think it will come down to Michael Johns and David A! With the Miley Cyrus/Jonas Brothers hype and all the teens with cell phones texting their votes - David will win by a landslide, just my opinion! So, enough said. I gotta go, I am on a cleaning jag - not sure where that came from but my husband will be thrilled! Pray for Kendra!

PS - I am not TRULY concerned that we will get kicked out of Oprah - I am quite certain that Dawn, Mimi and I can be on our best behavior as a testimony to how thankful we are for our gift from Kendra!! (just a disclaimer so we are not UNinvited!) :)
