My BIG break...

So, I heard from an agent in NYC today. She loves, loves, loves Macy-Sue! Just like you all, she couldn't imagine bookstore shelves without her dancing around and curtsying to those who picked her up to read her pages. She offered me a 5-book deal (I have 3 written already) and said if I was interested, she would overnight the contract for me to sign and it would be a DONE DEAL! She is talking book tour, Macy-Sue dolls, a PBS cartoon and some other stuff that I couldn't hear over my screaming and giggling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, and...... APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!

  10. You're doing it all wrong. "April Fools" jokes start out with bad news, and then the joke is that it's really good. Never end up on a negative note. It's all about relief.

(I'm thinking that you know this, and you're about to post that the first "April Fools!" was the April Fools.)

I was totally believing it until I read that the agent offered you a deal just like that without telling you about the prospective publisher or anything.
